It's fascinating how, in nature, critical thinking is actually a high-level anomaly. It's energy-expensive, it's demanding, it's built on other stuff like neuroplasticity, abstraction and language, it's hard. The vast majority of life on Earth is not generally built around it - most creatures are just content with their own ecological niche they're evolved into and just want to be left alone and not die, resources permitting.
But not you. You are incredibly lucky(/unfortunate) to have this incredible, very unusual, very not-normal tool at your disposal. A creature that is capable of questioning its environment, and most importantly, questioning itself.
Even if everything is ruined, even if your life is shit, even if everything has gone tits up, I want you to know that you're still kind of a miracle in plain sight.
Don't waste it. Use it for good. While you still can.
